An Up and Down Week For MRI This weekend was great for MRI Motorsports. We had some of our best races but some bad breaks. This weekend Mike Speeney raced in Heavy Mod. In the heat Mike finished seventh in only his second week in this class. Furthermore, in the main he got wrecked into the wall on the second lap. In addition, the chain fell off and we were not able to get it back on in time. Mike said “I need to move to world formula. “ Also, he said the car was only a five on a one to ten scale at ten being the best. He thought the car was just too bad. All in all, Mike was a little disappointed after this weekend. This weekend Shawn Speeney raced Heavy Honda. In his heat Shawn finished. Furthermore, in the B main he finished. However, everyone agreed that he had his best race. In the main with only four laps left his chain fell off and was out. He said the car was very slow and rated it just a one on a one to ten scale. At the end Shawn was a little let down after the race but everyone was proud of him. This weekend Dan Speeney raced in Heavy Honda. Dan got into the A main but finished seventh. Dan did not have much to say but rated the car a six on a one to ten scale. This weekend Andrew Speeney raced Sr. Honda. Andy had some bad luck this weekend. In the heat his chain fell off and was out of the race. Also, in the D main the spark plug broke and again he was out. Andy was pretty upset and rated the car a one. Everyone felt bad for Andy but there was nothing he could do. This weekend Rich did really well. In the Sr. Honda C main Rich started on the pole. He had a five car-length lead but cars were spinning out all the time. In the end he ended up fifth and everyone thought it was one of his best races. Rich was very happy with the car and rated it an eight on a one to ten scale. He thought there were too many cautions and everyone who spun should tighten up their car. All in all, Rich was very happy. In conclusion, MRI Motorsports had an up and down week. Rich Speeney Jr. - June 10, 2007
