MRI Motorsports is an asphalt modified race team.

MRI started in 2008 with a single car and a rookie team. Since then MRI has expanded to a 3 car team and is still progressing. MRI Motorsports competed in their first touring series the Race of Champions modified tour in the summer of 2010 with driver Mike Speeney. Mike competed for points and for the top rookie in the tour. MRI Motorsports also competed in their first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race this season. Mike piloted the number 80 to a 19th place after starting 31st. MRI also introduced another rookie driver younger brother of Mike, Dan Speeney. Dan ran the #31 sport mod at Sundance Vacations Speedway while Mike piloted the #87 sport mod.

After the 2010 season concluded MRI Motorsports has made the decision to compete in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour in the 2011 season with driver Mike Speeney running the #80 Chevrolet. Mike will run for rookie of the year award along with competing for points. Dan Speeney will drive the 31 sport mod at Mountain Speedway in the 2011 season.
