Mike’s modified stock car racing career started when he was sixteen years old. Before racing, Mike played competitive hockey but gave up his hockey career for a career in racing. Mike started out racing Quarter Midgets at Oaklane Speedway. For his first and only year at Oaklane, Mike picked up two feature wins in the World Formula Class. In his second year of racing he moved from Quarter Midgets to Asphalt Modifieds. Mike’s rookie year in Asphalt Modifieds was run at Sundance Vacations Speedway, Mike finished tenth in the points. His second year in the Modifieds was his break out year, grabbing eighth in the points missing only four races out of the twelve that were run. Mike finished in the Top Ten five times, four of which were Top Five finishes.

These days Mike is working on customizing modified stock cars for MRI Vinyl Art & Design in between races. He helps create that personalized touch to other race cars as well as his own. But racing is always on Mike’s mind. For his third consecutive year in asphalt modified racing, Mike raced in the Race of Champions Tour and the weekly schedule at Mountain. Mike finished 10th place in the Race of Champions modified tour points. Mike also competed in his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race this year, Mike started 32nd and finished 19th. Mike is scheduled to run the full schedule of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour in the 2011 season. Mike will be competing for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award along with points in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.
